Non excavation refers to the new construction technology that utilizes various rock and soil drilling equipment and technical means to lay, replace, and repair various underground pipelines in a very small part of the surface excavation (generally referring to small area excavation at the entrance and exit) through guidance and directional drilling. It does not hinder traffic, damage green spaces and vegetation, and does not affect the normal life and work order of shops, hospitals, schools, and residents. It solves the interference of traditional excavation construction on residents' lives, damages and adverse effects on traffic, environment, and surrounding building foundations, and therefore has a high social and economic effect.

1. During pipeline construction, there is no need to cut through the road and surface, solving the long-standing problems of urban underground pipeline construction projects: blocking traffic, damaging the environment, affecting the normal life and work order of shops, hospitals, schools, and residents.

2. The construction speed is fast, the comprehensive cost is low, and it has good economic and social benefits. Under the same conditions, the comprehensive construction cost of non excavation construction methods (laying, replacing, and repairing) is lower than that of excavation construction, and it becomes more pronounced as the pipe diameter and burial depth are larger.
